Baby Chickens

Meet the new members of the Gray Family Flock: Oreo, Butter, Foghorn, Bald Eagle, and Connie.

A Silver Wyandotte, two Leghorns, an Araucana, and a Barred Rock.

They are all sweet, mellow little chicks that patiently endure all the love and affection the kids lavish upon them.

Lost tooth!

It hung there for weeks, barely attached.

Gavin wouldn't let us pull it out. Nor would he let his friends, or the teenagers at church, or his sister.

Finally, it came on its own (or he just yanked it -- it's not clear what went down) late at night on a Saturday night while most of us were asleep.

After a brief panic about the state of the Tooth Fairy's cash flow, and some frantic searching through hidden pockets and couch cushions, the Fairy came up with a crisp five dollar bill to ransom the tooth from its envelope under Gavin's pillow.

Not a bad price for a first lost tooth!

Easter Weekend

Jason, Rachel, and Julia Mumford drove up from DC to spend Easter with us. We had a completely wonderful holiday weekend. These are some of the many pictures I took of some of the many fun things we did together.

Norwich Passover

Playing Outside

Easter Egg Hunt

Coloring and Decorating Eggs

...then three little rabbits hopped off to bed to wait for the Easter Bunny!

Three Gray Men

In late March, Howard and Jordan flew to Vermont to kidnap Austin for a guys' weekend in Boston.  They toured the city and went to an Elite Eight NCAA game.

Having Jordan around gives me the excuse I need to clean the top of my fridge and various other areas that only he is tall enough to actually see.

Not that he actually cares about such things. Jordan and Howard were so focused on entertaining my kids while they were here, I don't think they spent much energy thinking about anything else!
