Gavin was excited about fielding. (Austin was a great outfield coach: "OK, boys, get in a crouch! Punch your mits! The ball is coming your way!" and generally trying to keep them from sitting down or wandering off.)

Brother's Day
Today at church the lady sitting across the aisle asked me how old he was. Gavin had been sitting next to Austin, singing right along with every word of the hymns. The lady was stunned that he was five and easily reading those big long words. I have to admit that I'm pretty stunned by his reading ability myself. Gavin has always been so remarkably sweet and snuggly and easy to get along with that it was a bit of a surprise to discover he's wicked smart too.
I feel so lucky to get to be his mother.
Lucy's Piano Recital
Saturday was Lucy's first piano recital.
So she had no extra practice time before we had to be at the church for the recital (though she did have a lovely painted face from Spring Fling).
