It has been raining for the PAST. THREE. WEEKS.
Sometimes it rains all day, sometimes it starts to look pretty good but then the sun gives way to hours of thunderstorms. And always, always, humid as it can possibly be.

The river is too high to swim, and the fields are swampy, so the kids have been spending a lot of time in the house building forts.
In between raindrops (or every time there isn't an active thunderstorm going on) I have been taking the kids to the pool, so they can just enjoy being completely wet in this wettest of all wet Vermont summers.

We can often get in a couple of hours of swimming before another thunderstorm comes along. Then we pack up wet kids and wet towels and head home, adding to the collection of damp and wilting towels and suits hanging in the bathroom, refusing to dry in 100% humidity. . .
