Gavin and I made a car for the Cub Scouts Pinewood Derby. Gavin was pretty pessimistic and named his car the Green Hornet, after the Silver Hornet in Peter Sellers' Pink Panther ("ehhh, the Hornet is overdue for a service . . .")
Turns out our car was awesome! Our secret: nickels superglued to the underside of the car to bring it up to the limit of 5 ounces.
