We had so much fun with our Chinese exchange students last year we decided to do the program for a second year. This year, Lucy was a Peer Mentor volunteer so she spent all day with the Chinese kids, helping them work on their English and learn about America.
This year we just had one student staying with us: Alice, a lovely girl from Chengdu. She and Lucy hit it off great. We also had a couple more Chinese girls staying with a host family nearby, so we often had evenings with Chinese kids running all around the yard with Lucy and Gavin and having lots of fun.
Lucy had such a great time with these fun girls! I think we may have to do this again next year.
