Gavin wakes up at the crack of dawn every day, just as happy and chipper as anything. (Whose kid ARE you, anyway?) Since they can't go to summer camp until 9:00, Gavin has started talking Austin into getting up and saddling the horses so he and Lucy can ride for a while in the morning. I don't think any other request would get Austin out of bed that early. On a few mornings, I've stumbled out bleary-eyed with my camera to watch. These mares are really so sweet, and the kids are getting very confident in their riding. Especially Lucy, who likes to get Beauty to trot up and down the lawn until it's time to go to camp and . . . ride more horses.
