My sister-in-law Heather Fuhrman just won an American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) award for her master's thesis designs for the Gouwanus Canal in Brooklyn!
We are so proud of you, Heather! You rock! And can I just say, one of my favorite things about your project is the way you brought together community members interested in the canal to get input. It makes sense for this design to be "bottom-up" with economic and social as well as environmental concerns into consideration. I knew your political science degree would be the perfect preparation for your career!
