Happy Birthday Gavin!

My favorite four-year-old wanted a Chewbacca cake for his birthday, but I felt that a hairy brown frosting wookie might be a little beyond my artistic capacity, so he settled for a Hot Wheels cake with a crushed-Oreo road.

It's hard to say what was more fun for the kids -- filling the pinata (and themselves) full of candy before the party . . .

. . . or whacking the candy back out of the pinata once the friends got here!

(For me, the most fun was watching Austin dancing out of the path of a wild swinging bat wielded by his children.)

In the end, plenty of sugar was enjoyed by all. Happy Birthday to my Big Bad Eagle Gavin Monster Bat!
